Coopers was appointed as Principal Contractor for the extensive renovation and transformation of this four-bedroom home, working closely with the client from the early stages of the project through to final completion.
The brief was to completely reimagine the existing property, creating a contemporary family home with a strong emphasis on open-plan living, considered detailing and a high-quality interior finish. Rather than simply updating the existing spaces, the property was stripped back throughout, allowing the internal layout, finishes and building services to be comprehensively redesigned.
Our dedicated Project Manager supported the client throughout the build, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the project, coordinating trades and specialist contractors, assisting with material and product specifications, and working closely with the interior designer to ensure the construction and design elements came together seamlessly.
A significant part of the transformation was the creation of a completely new internal layout, designed to improve the flow of the property and create generous, connected living spaces. At the heart of the home is a bespoke six-kite winder staircase, complemented by open-plan living areas and a carefully considered palette of materials including microcement and herringbone flooring.
Attention to detail continued throughout the interior, with high-specification finishes, bespoke detailing and carefully coordinated materials creating a consistent feel across the home.
Alongside the architectural and interior transformation, the property incorporates an extensive mechanical and electrical specification. This includes MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery), air conditioning and an integrated cinema projector. Careful coordination was required throughout the construction programme to ensure these systems were incorporated discreetly without compromising the overall design or quality of the interior finishes.
The completed project demonstrates how an existing property can be comprehensively transformed through considered design, skilled construction and close collaboration between the client, contractor and design team.
